More Summer Fun
I have decided that summertime for teachers is good if you are: married with kids, married, have a lot of friends to hang out with, or dating. Summer time is tough if you are in a long distance relationship and have very few friends in the area... Yes, that's me raising my hand! I have tried to find things to occupy my time, but it seems like if I am not making money, I am spending it, and there is no happy medium. so far this summer in less than a month, I have: gone to Virginia Beach to visit Jeff while he is working, gone to Florida with my friend, Mueller, (that story comes later) and gone to Andrews to visit my parents. It has been a good and fun-filled summer so far. Now, I am at home and becoming a little antsy because I am not doing much. The Solution: Find more stuff to do!
Ok so first, I went to Virginia Beach to visit Jeff while he was training for his deployment out there. I had a GREAT time. I would work out and relax during the day while he was at work and then he would come back and we would go eat or do something. Jeff is so amazing. He would come back from a long day of training and act like I was the only thing in the world that mattered and give me his undivided attention every night. We got to go to two beaches and Busch Gardens and just spend quality time together. One thing I noticed was how we help each other out. One night, I was feeling really sick, so instead of doing what he wanted, we got medicine for me and just hung out. In the same night, he got some bad news that seemed to stress him out and I tried to cheer him up. It is such a nice feeling to have the person that loves and cares about me the most by my side. I REALLY enjoy so much the time I spend with him.
When I got home from Virginia Beach, I spent a few days cleaning up, unpacking, etc. and as I was home watching the NBA finals, I was talking to Mueller about it. We went to game 5 last year and it was an unbelievable experience. Let me back up a second. Mueller is like a 3rd brother to me. We coached together at the same school and are able to just be friends. He is an attractive guy, but there is NO attraction there for me. He is truly like a brother (did I mention that already)? Mueller had a rough couple of weeks and so I said something random like, "Let's just go to Game 5 in Miami." He jumped on that idea and was all ready to go. Well after some thoughts and analysis of my budget, I decided that it was not financially a good decision. I still felt bad because he wanted to go on a vacation since he doesn't get one this summer. Long story, a little shorter, we decided to take a road trip to Florida. I thought we would get some friends and go, but the friends bailed so it left me and Mueller to go on a road trip. Now, from the outside looking in, this looks like a weird situation that I would take a road trip with someone who is not my boyfriend alone. And I admit, that is a weird concept. But if I go back up to my original statement about him being like a brother, it is not weird at all. It was literally like if I would have gone on a road trip with my brother. We had a fun time exploring New Orleans, Pensacola, and Destin, FL in 4 days. The day after I got back, I decided to go home to Andrews and visit my parents.
Andrews is always fun because it is home and I lived there for 17 years until I set off on my own. My parents are always fun because they are still so young and
active (while being 66 and 68 respectively). While home, I had conversations with my mom like I have never had before. I truly felt like my mom and I were having mother/daughter conversations. It was such an amazing feeling!
Well now to today. I have been at home for 2 days and am starting to get bored, so once again, it is time for another adventure! I am not too sure what to do yet, but I have a great friend, Jennifer, who is willing to do whatever, so I'm sure we will find some fun stuff to do.
I am posting pictures from all of my adventures. Let the summer keep rolling along!!
