My friends...
I have been fortunate to go to Georgia and spend quite a bit of time with Jeff. I have also been blessed to get to see my family more often. This summer has been GRRRRREAT!! Now on Monday it is time to get back to work... :)
Horrible Blogger
I thought I would start blogging more frequently, but NOPE sure haven't! I just don't have a lot of cool stuff to blog about. I don't have cute pictures of babies, etc.... BUT I do have random pictures of my GREAT friends!!
I just moved to the Dallas area and I really like it. I ran into a bad housing situation though... GO FIGURE!!! Long story short, I am moving AGAIN... but staying in the Dallas area. I am making new friends and "rekindling" relationships with old friends. Needless to say, I am happy here! :-) I was also reading a book today that was talking about attitudes and it basically reminded me that anyone's situation is what they make it, so I am going to make the very BEST out of my situation!!!
I have a wonderful family (which is growing with my brother having twins!!), awesome, supportive friends, an AMAZING boyfriend, and most importantly, a Lord who I love more and more every day!
I don't have a lot of interesting things to tell about at the moment, but I'm sure I will soon!! :-)

God's Magnificence

On June 11th the most amazing babies were put on this earth, Kaylan Grace and Dylan Cash. Dylan weighed 3 lbs 3 oz and Kaylan came in at a whopping 1 lb 2 oz. Yes, that's a grand total of 4 lbs for 2 babies.... that's unheard of right?? NOT WITH GOD IT'S NOT!!!! Mark 10:27 has always been one of my favorite scriptures and it says, "All things are possible with God." That is completely true and Dylan and Kaylan would be Exhibit A of this verse.
I would call Landon and Jen prayer warriors or the prime example of faith in God. I have been so encouraged by their faith and hope in the Lord that He will make everything right with these babies. If I was a filmmaker I would do a movie on this whole thing because the whole story is remarkable. But I guess that shouldn't be surprising because God does remarkable things with remarkable people!!
So I do have a niece and nephew who I will see next week. Even though they are in incubators, I am still SO EXCITED to get to introduce them to their Aunt Katie. So of course, as with almost every story/blog, I will post pictures of the gorgeous little things!!!!

Let the Summer Begin
I was fortunate to come out to Georgia and get to be at my wonderful boyfriend's promotion ceremony. Jeff is now "Captain Coverdale." I am extremely proud of him! His parents got to come out as well which was a real blessing. They are so GREAT. I can't even explain.
Jeff not only got promoted to Captain, but also received a very prestigious award called the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (DMSM.... another acronym from the military, go figure) for when he was over in Afghanistan. I didn't know much about this award, but after researching a little bit, I realized that this is a HUGE honor. I am SOOOOO PROUD OF HIM!!
I really got to know Jeff's parents and absolutely love them. We all had a really good weekend together. They have been so supportive of Jeff and me and that is a tremendous feeling.
While I am having an amazing time out here with my amazing boyfriend, I am constantly thinking about and praying for my brother and sister-in-law. Jen and Landon are having twins and Jen has been in the hospital for a week now. We want her to stay in the hospital so Kaylan and Dylan can grow grow grow and be healthy. I get daily updates from my brother and then I update Jeff on their progress. So Jen, if you are reading, Jeff and I are praying for you guys constantly!!! LOVE YOU!!

Praises, Fighting, Anticipation...
Well my sister-in-law and brother got great news, that Kaylan has doubled her size in two weeks. Yes, God is good!!! Peanut needs to keep growing so she can be healthy. I can't wait to have 2 nieces and one nephew! I figure if I don't have my own, I can just live my life through them. haha
Well this week has been interesting at school. The students seem to fight more and more as the end of school nears. I never understood why people fight. Yes, I partially broke up my first fight this past week too. My girls and I were walking outside to the weight room and there were tons of kids outside after the bell rang. When there are a bunch of kids gathered, you know there is a fight or about to be a fight. Well, I am not ever going to jump in the middle of a fight unless I absolutely have to and this day I had to. Fortunately, the fight hadn't taken place just yet. All of the kids were screaming and urging these two girls on to fight. Since there was no other teacher or administrator around, I walked up in the middle and yelled at the kids to go to class. Yes, with my authoritative ways! HA. I eventually turned them all around and sent them on their ways. (You may applaud for me now.)
Also, I have a real problem with parents that name their kids something that is not at all what it is spelled like. For example "alkfjauhgaidfh" could be "Kelly" according to these parents.... ok ok not THAT bad, but it's pretty confusing at times. I was handing out tests to these kids who I don't know. I read the name, "Squasha." Now according to phonics, that says squasha (sounds like "squash-a"). Well of course it is not. It is Sha-Quay-sha. The girl got angry with me, but girl LOOK YOUR NAME IS SHQUASHA!!
I now have officially 8 days until I get to see my wonderful boyfriend. I miss him SOOO much!! I get to spend more than a weekend with him too! His promotion ceremony is soon and he is getting promoted to Captain!! "Captain Coverdale" will be his official title. It has a nice ring to it. :-) We go on our cruise to the Bahamas with my friends too. I can't wait!!!
God is great and life is good. :-)

My Wonderful Family
I have felt a little left out lately because everyone seems to be up to date on the blog scene and I haven't been on in a long time. I saw my sister-in-law, Jennifer, blogging this morning and it made me think that I need to blog a little more. Blogging is kind of the new age version of writing in a diary and goodness knows I had tons of diaries growing up. I feel that my diaries/blogs now are a little better and don't deal with who I played Barbies with or what boy in elementary/middle school that I had a crush on, but rather real world stuff. Examples coming...
First let me say that I have an absolutely amazing family!!! I look at other people's families and compare to mine and just praise God for him blessing me with such an AWESOME family. We have a blast when we all get together, and my family is just awesome... have I said that?!?!
Within my family, I have my oldest brother Patrick and his wife Chelsea and their daughter, McKenna, who I absolutely ADORE! I always wanted to have a little brother and sister and never got to be, so McKenna is kind of like the little sister I never had. Patrick and Chelsea love that little girl to death, and you can truly see the love they have for her. I look in the newspaper and hear about parents mistreating, hurting, or even killing their babies and cannot even imagine. Patrick and Chelsea are truly amazing parents who will be great to as many kids as they decide to have.
Next, I have my other brother Landon and his wife Jennifer and their soon to be children, Dylan and Kaylan. Yep that's right, I named 2 names, which means TWINS!!! There have been some complications with these little babies because Kaylan hasn't been growing like she should, but it is absolutely amazing to see Landon and Jen's strength. They are so strong and what makes them strong is their faith in God. They constantly pray and talk about their faith in God. It is so incredible to witness their faith in God and their hope and strength. I just know that both Kaylan and Dylan are going to make it. God is probably thinking, "OK OK already I heard all 30,000 of your prayers... I got it under control, don't worry." I cannot wait to meet my new niece and nephew come June, July or August!!!
My parents are wonderful as well!! They have an unconditional love for all of us and I hope that one day I can be half as good of parents as they were to me. Plus, they raised an amazing daughter (ME) so they really can't go wrong. haha....
I had a great weekend with all of them and can't wait to see them all again. Another great thing about the weekend is that Jeff (the boyfriend) made it back to the U.S. today safe and sound!! :-) Until next "BLOGGY BLOG BLOG".... Keep praying for Kaylan and Dylan!!!
